Yardage Tools

Problem

You have a hard time telling distances on the course.

Cure

Experiment with different gadgets that are designed to help you determine your yardages. Knowing the yardage will help you visualize your next shot, select the correct club, and help take some stress out of your game. So do not be afraid to seek out tools that will help you improve your game.

Therapy

Do not use a golf cart. Walk the course so you can feel the distance of each hit. After you hit a ball, study where it landed from where you hit it. Look at different landmarks between you and the ball to help you access how far away it is. Use a yardage markers, GPS or range finder tool to help you determine the distance. Now that you know what the distance is, reinforce it by walking to the ball and try to feel the distance.

In the British Army the marching pace is 30 inches, Make yourself a chart to convert your normal pace to yards or metres. For ladies it is 27 inch paces. Who do you know who has 36" or 39" paces? I would split my wishbone trying ;-) Try it, it works very well.
