Tip From the Archives
Wristy Putter
Problem
You feel that your arms or wrists are too active as you putt.
Cure
You are not supposed to have any wrist hinge when you putt. Work on making more of a pendulum style stroke.
Therapy
Set up with your eyes over the ball. Make sure your arms are straight so that they form a straight line from your shoulders all the way down along the putter shaft. Focus on simply rocking your shoulders to move the club back and forward so that your shoulders, arms, and putter move as one solid unit. Remember to keep your wrists straight and to avoid swaying your arms.
