Work Disruptions
Problem
You are distracted with work while playing golf.
Cure
When you play golf, you really need to concentrate on just playing the game. Turn off your cell and anything else that might beep, starting from the moment you begin to practice until the ride back to the clubhouse. Chances are, the reason you are playing is to get break, so relax and enjoy the game! If you need something technical to play with to help you relax while you wait for your turn, play with something golf related such as the GPS system, distance estimator, or digital score calculator; just as long as it is not on your cell or PDA.
Therapy
Even if you are playing with coworkers or your boss, you need to stop thinking about work before you approach the ball. Once it is your turn to play, pick your club and use this as your cue to become focused on how you will play out the shot. Be confident that you are selecting the correct club to land the ball on the sweet spot in the middle of the fairway. Set up and swing with the image of the ball flying towards that spot and landing there. Do not think about what your coworkers think about your swing; only think about your target area. If you do find your mind wondering, just step back and restart your preshot routine. The fact is, your coworkers will be more impressed with the great shot you made and less focused on the fact you had to set up to the ball more than once. If you set up with no feel for your swing, distance, and the image of the target then you will have a very bad round and delay the game even more.
Could be you are playing golf when you should be at office working? Still, a bad day at golf course is better than a good day at the office.
