Tip From the Archives
Windy Green Shot
Problem
The wind is blowing towards you and you are hitting over 150 yards away on a small green.
Cure
Try to keep the ball and your swing low to help reduce the effects of the wind.
Therapy
Set a little more weight on your front leg. As you swing, try to keep the ball a little lower by swinging more around your body and shorten the length of the swing. Try to use your legs to help you stay low during the shot with a little extra knee bend. If you watch some tour players in this situation, you will notice that they bend their forward knee back a little as they take the club back and bend the trailing leg forward, towards the target as they take your forward swing.
