Tip From the Archives
Whistle Control
Problem
You cannot stop trying to kill the ball.
Cure
Instead of focusing on power, try to achieve a better tempo and you will gain more yardage.
Therapy
A really simple way to avoid over powering your swing is to try to keep the same tone while whistling. Whistle as you take your normal swing. You are likely to hear the tone breakup, slow down, or increase during different points in your swing. Your goal should be to try not to strain yourself as you swing because this is disrupting your tempo and tone. Continue to practice so that whistle is steady throughout the swing for a smother tempo and more distance.
