Tip From the Archives
Waiting
Problem
You do not have enough time to fully practice your swing before a round but you do have a few minutes to wait before you can start.
Cure
Be certain to stretch and move your muscles around even if you cannot make it to the driving range before playing. You will be less likely to pull a muscle and your swing will be more fluid because of it.
Therapy
Do not panic because you do not have time to practice. This is a time for you to relax and focus on your game. If you find that you have a just enough time to hit a few balls do not try to work out anything specific in your swing. Allow the warm up session to help you build confidence. Start out by making some slow practice swings to work on your tempo and to ease your muscles into the swing. Only swing about seventy percent. Make short putts to build confidence. If you are warmed up but you need to wait around for a while, do not just stand there. Keep your muscles prepared for your round. Work on your wedge shots around the green and play it into completion. Vary the wedge shots from high to low running shots so you have a good feel for controlling the loft and to see how the ball is running on the green.
