Waggle or Not
Problem
You are wondering if you should waggle the club before taking your normal swing.
Cure
A rhythmic waggle can be great at helping reduce first tee jitters and relax the arms and wrists. A waggle should create the proper feel and muscle memory by creating an ideal swing path away from and back to the ball. Can waggling the club be bad? Yes, if you already have a long preshot routine it can take up too much time and cause you to lose your imagery of the shot. If you want to integrate a waggle into your swing, make sure it does not take too much time or you might need to eliminate something else in your preshot routine.
Therapy
Make sure that once you set up to the ball that you hit it in less than 10 seconds. Waggling can leave the club too far inside if not done correctly. To waggle correctly, make a small loop going back, along the target line, then back to the ball on a line slightly inside of that.
