Using Bounce

Problem

You want to work on getting the ball up high with a soft landing on the green.

Cure

Remember to accelerate through the sand and to use the bounce of the club.

Therapy

Practice hitting off of the plastic handle of the rake or one of the tubes people use to help separate their clubs in the bag. This will help you practice getting the feel for using the bounce of your sand wedge. Lay the tube or rake on the sand so that it is aimed in the same angle as your body is set up. Now ground the clubhead on the center of the tube with an open clubface. Swing the club back and through. Feel and listen for the club to bounce as you move club along the tube. Do not stop your swing upon contact with the tube. Keep accelerating your swing into the follow through.

Like the idea a lot.Have a couple of redundant plastic covered mop handles that I knew would come in handy in some small way!Great tip.
