Two Drivers

Problem

I have a friend that carries two drivers and wonder if it would benefit me to do the same.

Cure

If you do not exceed the club maximum of fourteen then you can. That way if you break one or are suddenly uncomfortable with the one you have, you can switch. Ideally, you want one driver that you love and know very well. This way it feels as if the club is just an extension of your arms or you know the feel and sound of a well placed hit.

Therapy

If you do decide to carry two drivers, you should consider carrying two drivers with different lofts. Often players make a mistake of carrying one to correct their hooks and another to correct their slices. Almost as if they are setting themselves up to never hit straight. Work on your accuracy with both lofted drivers and hopefully you will never have to worry about a hook or slice correcting driver or even two.
