Trailing Attack

Problem

You have a hard time getting out of the sand bunkers.

Cure

A common problem for players is that they do not make a finish in the sand bunkers. Make a full finish, even if you are in a close, greenside bunker.

Therapy

Take an open stance and place the ball forward. Set the clubface square to the target, which will be open to your stance. Plan on entering the sand an inch or more behind the ball. Use the flange of the club to help you move through the sand with the leading edge of the clubhead. As you move through the sand, focus on really accelerating your trailing hand until you bring the club into a full finish.
