Tight Core
Problem
You need more distance and are out of shape.
Cure
You will be able to gain more power and distance if you can get your entire body fit. Use any free time during the day as an opportunity to exercise, even if it is just a squat here and there. Instead of finding the closest parking spot, try parking further way for a chance to walk a little more. Use a pull cart instead of a golf cart.
Therapy
One simple way to tone your core muscles for a more powerful swing is to keep your abs engaged throughout the day. Tie a string around your waist, wear a belt or an elastic bandage around your stomach or abdominal pelvic area. For women, they can use shapewear or control brief underwear. Pull in your abs as you exhale. Wrap the bandage around your waist just as you inhale just a little. This will give you some breathing room. Work on keeping your abdominal muscles tight as you inhale and exhale. As you exhale, breath out heavily through your mouth and you will be able to tighten your abdominals even more. When you inhale, try not to allow your abdominal muscles to expand out as far as usual. You can do this without something around your waist but it is a great reminder to keep these muscles engaged during your regular daily activities.
