Tip From the Archives
The Ball Is Above Your Feet
Problem
Getting a draw, hook, or duffing the ball when it is lying above your feet because this makes the ball actually closer to your club than it would be if you were on a flat surface. The heel of the club touches the ground first and closes the face of the club.
Cure
Since the slope makes the ball is closer to you, it is necessary for you choke down on the club.
Therapy
Stand a little taller with a narrow stance, place your right foot a little behind your left, and remember to choke down on the club. Your weight should be evenly distributed between both of your feet but try to place a little more weight on your toes than usual. The ball is likely to fly right to left, so you need to aim your feet and the club face a little right to compensate for the fact the club will hit mostly from the heel of the club. The longer the club you use, the more you will need to aim to the right.
