Tension Release
Problem
You have difficulty relaxing your arms and body before teeing off.
Cure
Normally, you would try a preshot routine that will help you focus and relax your arms so that you do not grip the club too tightly. However, one drill to help ease tension is to grip the club as hard a possible and hold it there for thirty seconds. By creating such tension in your arms and hands before swinging, you will actually be able to take a more relaxed grip and swing.
Therapy
Wrap both of your hands around the grip as you normally would but with as much strength as you possibly can. Feel your fingers extend and tighten around the grip to the point of your knuckles turning white. The muscles in your arms and back should tighten because of the additional strain. Hold this grip for thirty seconds and then relax your grip. Take a deep breath as you set up to the ball. You should notice your body is much more relaxed, your grip lighter than usual, and your swing will be more free and natural.
