Swing Inside
Problem
You slice the ball and want to draw the ball from right to left.
Cure
Check to make sure that you are not opening the clubface at impact. A possible cause for your slice is that your swinging path is too much along the outside to in. If you want to learn how to swing along the inside path, improve your balance, or want to encourage a draw then pull your back foot behind you onto the toes.
Therapy
Set up to the ball using an iron with a narrow stance. Move your back foot behind you, away from the target line by about a foot. This will allow you to make a larger backswing turn and move the clubhead into the ball from the inside path. To help improve your balance and prevent your lower body from spinning out or swinging from the inside to in, try this stance but with your heel of your back foot lifted up off of the ground. With both stances, it is important to make sure that your hands rotate so the clubface is square at impact. Try this swing at least ten times or until you have established the feeling of swinging from the inside. Then set up to the ball normally so your feet are square to the target to see if this eliminates or reduces your slice.
