Swing Freely

Problem

You are too uptight or stressed when swinging and this causes you to hit inconstantly.

Cure

Try to eliminate stress by swinging without a club and feel how a fluid swing should feel. This will help ingrain the feeling of a proper swing into your muscle memory and reduce anxiety that you feel over hitting the ball. This should help you focus on making a smooth swing instead of fixating on what could go wrong.

Therapy

Swing as if you are swinging a club all the way back and forward into a full finish. Forget about any complicated swing mechanics and focus only on how naturally the weight shift occurs when you take a nice and relaxed swing. Once you are able to feel a natural swing, try it with a club with only that feeling in mind.
