Tip From the Archives
Sweaty Hand
Problem
Your gloved hand is often wet inside, giving you an uncomfortable grip.
Cure
Taking your glove off between shots to dry your hands and putting on a new glove may not be a reasonable option for you. One thing to consider is the moisture or sweat that might be running down off of your arm, into your glove. Clip two golf towels on your bag, one for your arms and one for your clubs.
Therapy
Stretch the velcro to the halfway point to allow some breathing room and due to the fact that the glove will stretch. Try using a differently designed glove and keeping an extra, backup glove for when your glove becomes too uncomfortable. When shopping for a new glove, look for one with features that will help prevent the buildup of moisture in your glove. Some options are gloves with extra ventilation holes or perforations, flexible material in the knuckles, antimicrobial fabric to help lift moisture off of your hand, breathable material along the edges of the fingers, moisture wicking leather or wristbands. Keep in mind that when you remove the glove, it should not look like your hand is still in it and if it does, then it is time to get a new one.
For those with extreme sweaty hands, try rain gloves. Right and left hand come together in a pack. You will immediately regain your normal grip tension. What a relief!!
