Swaying in Golf
Problem
You keep swaying your body during your golf swing.
Cure
Sometimes golfers feel the need to force their forward heel off of the ground during their backswing but this motion can encourage an unwanted sway. This motion should happen naturally because of a great turn. Focus on planting this heel down onto the ground during your forward swing. It will allow a more powerful upper body rotation into the ball.
Therapy
If you have an excessive amount of hip turn then your weight will shift to the outside of the heel on your back foot. This will prevent the necessary weight shift needed on your forward foot during the downswing. Setup without a club while standing tall and relaxed. Place your feet shoulder width apart then bend slightly forward from your hips and bend your knees as if you are about to make a shot in basketball. Look straight in front of you and place your hands on your hips. Turn your body away from your target and you should notice that your weight is placed on your trailing side. If it is not, then practice turning until you feel the proper weight shift onto your trailing foot as it should on your backswing. Practice this weight shift with a club and imagine your weight propelling downward into your forward heel during your forward swing.
