Sulking

Problem

Once you hit a few bad shots, you let it get to you and your game progressively becomes worse.

Cure

When your game is going bad, remember to keep your head up so that your chin is well off of your chest. When your game goes sour, you will tend to sulk and have poor posture, thus preventing you from making a full turn. Plus, when you can make it a point to hold your head up, in a positive stance, it can help boost your confidence for a better round. So, look up at the clouds for a minute and get your game on!

Therapy

Use your preshot routine as a crutch to help you regain your focus. Try numbering each step of your preshot routine. Such as: 1, pull the club out of the bag and visualize the shot. 2, practice the shot, feeling the swing needed to land the ball at your target. 3, chin up, take a deep breath, exhale, and swing.

If it is a stroke play round, play every hole as though it was a matchplay competition. Many of us are better at matchplay, and putting in the perspective of one hole at a time seems to work for me. Lose a hole? So what? "I'll win every hole from now on". If you think you can, you can.
