Tip From the Archives

Stay Tilted

Problem

The ball is setting on packed sand.

Cure

Remember to lean a little towards the target. This will help you place more weight on your front leg and help reduce the amount of bounce of your club.

Therapy

Open the clubface. Tilt your spine towards the target. Keep most your weight on your forward throughout the entire swing and it will help the clubhead to make contact closer to the ball. The ball is likely to fly a little faster out of the sand from this shot than it would out of the fluffy sand. However, do not allow this to discourage you from accelerating through the shot.
