Tip From the Archives
Stay Down
Problem
You have a hard time making the short to medium length putts.
Cure
Because the putt is so short, players tend to forget their usual preshot routines and stand up too quickly. Even though it may feel like a sure thing, keep your wits about you and play it as you would any other putt.
Therapy
As you take your putt, stay over the ball, keep your head still, and listen to the ball drop into the cup. Be certain that you stay down while throughout the entire putt. At the end of the stroke, freeze your body in your follow through position and wait to hear the sound of the ball dropping into the cup with the faith that it will go in.
