Tip From the Archives
Smile
Problem
There is nothing you can think of or do to help reduce your stress on the course.
Cure
Even if you have to force it, smile and smile often. Simply smiling will release endorphins in your brain and help improve your mood.
Therapy
Smile and accept that you messed up that last shot. Try to bring closure to this sour mood by creating a ritual that you do after every swing. Use this as a signal that your swing is over and time to move on to focusing and visualizing on what you need to do next on the course. This signal could be something as simple as wiping the clubface clean. Once you have cleaned the club, wipe this image from your mind as well. Return the club to the bag and as you move to your next ball position, start imagining what the distance is for your next shot, club selection, and swing type.
And...you're on the golf course...reason enough to smile
