Simple Fade Trick

Problem

You need to fade the ball off of the tee box but you do not feel comfortable making a lot of adjustments to your swing to achieve it.

Cure

For most distance shots, you want to have a nice long swing that is more around your body. However for a fade, it will happen easier if your swing is a little more up and down than around.

Therapy

An easy way to trick yourself into hitting a fade without making a lot of swing adjustments is to tee the ball a little lower than you are used to. This will cause you to have a steeper swing without a lot of effort. Another simple adjustment is to grip the club a little tighter with the last three fingers of your leading hand so you will delay your release.

I have no problem with a fade, it a draw I struggle with on those damn dogleg left shots. I always end up laying it up?

What about just finishing high on your follow-through...i.e. club finishes towards the sky instead of behind your back. That always takes the left side out of play.

Fade:- hands lower - upright swing. Draw:- Hands higher -round body swing.
