Sand Chip
Problem
The ball landed in a greenside bunker and you have plenty of green to work with.
Cure
Try a sand chip if the ball is sitting on top of the sand in a bunker with a low lip. This gives shot will allow plenty of roll due to the limited amount of spin.
Therapy
Make sure you can make clean contact with the ball, before making a divot in the sand. Use a club with just enough loft to get the ball over the lip of the sand trap. Set up in an open stance with most of your weight placed on your forward leg. The ball should be just off of your trailing foot with your hands even with the center of your chest. Stand closer to the ball because you want to get the club up more vertical so the heel of the club is lifted up a bit further off the ground than usual. You want to help reduce sidespin by squaring the clubface. Your elbows should bend out a little, almost as if you are putting. Try to limit the amount of wrist hinge during the swing. One of the most important things to remember is to contact the ball first and then contact the sand.
