Sand Bunker Behind a Tree
Problem
Your ball is in a sand bunker and you must hit past a tree in order to make it to the green.
Cure
A sand wedge will give you too much loft and you will end up hitting the tree. Instead, try using a lower lofted club, such as a five iron.
Therapy
Take a normal grip and aim your clubface towards the pin then open your clubface with your body aimed left of the target. You will need cock your wrists early, keep your hands behind the ball, and swing on an outside path. Cut across the ball and plan to hit the sand a little over an inch behind the ball. Be sure to make a full follow through.
