Tip From the Archives

Rushed

Problem

You forget your preshot routine when you play due to feeling rushed.

Cure

Each time you step up to your bag, grab your selected club and talk yourself through the preshot routine from start to finish. Just make sure it is one that is consistent and repeatable for all shots, including one that you can use while putting.

Therapy

When you rush, it will cause you to become careless with not only your preshot routine but with the speed, technique, and length of your swing. You will then end up adding additional strokes to your score, taking longer over all. If your group is rushed, ask someone or the group to play Better Ball with you. You can make a challenge out of it and record mark on the score card for each player, every time you use their ball per hole. Total it up and see which players ball you used the most. The losers get to chip in to buy the winner lunch.
