Tip From the Archives

Rotate Your Arms

Problem

You are slicing the ball or are looking to draw the ball a little more.

Cure

Make sure you rotate and extend your forearms during impact.

Therapy

When you practice, do not allow the club head to move from in to out because if you do, you are likely to slice the ball. Try to move the clubhead from inside the target line, square the clubface in the hitting area, and then allow the clubhead to move inside the target line again. To help achieve this swing style, allow your forearms to rotate into impact. As you do this, you want to make sure the clubhead is traveling along the target line through the impact zone.

Put a tee in the ground 6" to a foot behind the ball and the same distance in front of the ball on the ball to target line.Clipping both tees (and collecting the ball on the way through) will ensure that you are square thru' the ball.
