Rolling Wrists Test
Problem
You suspect that your wrists are rolling during the takeaway.
Cure
Slow the swing down or videotape it to watch your wrist movement.
Therapy
Grip the club as usual. Notice the V formed between your thumb and hand on your trailing hand. Set a tee in this V so that it is pointing away from your body once you regrip the club. Slowly practice your takeaway. Focus on keeping this tee pointing away from your body. The tee should remain pointing in this direction until you begin to lift the club as you turn your shoulders. This will help make any turning, twisting, or rolling of your wrists a lot more noticeable during your takeaway.
