Rocking Knee Putt
Problem
You have tried changing your grip, putters, and even swing style. Yet, you still have the putting yips.
Cure
Try to putt without controlling the putter with your hands. This is because it is usually your hands or arms that are twitching just before contact with the ball.
Therapy
Grip the club and keep your arms stiff by bending your elbows a little and allow them to lean against your waist. Do not allow your shoulders to turn or rock through the stroke and keep your hands and arms stiff in this position. Power your backstroke by allowing your forward knee to rock out and away from the ball. Then you allow your trailing knee to rock out and towards the ball during the forward stroke. The faster your knee moves, the longer the putt. Practice knee putting several times on the practice green before your round so you get a feel for how to control and apply power to your stroke in a smooth pendulum motion.
