Relax By Breathing

Problem

You have a difficulty relaxing while you play golf.

Cure

Practice breathing at home, office, or in your golf cart as you wait to for your tee time.

Therapy

Sit up with your back straight but not tense. Practice taking long, deep breaths by breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Your exhalation should take twice as long as inhalation. It helps you calm down and reroute your focus when you breathe out longer than you did in. For an added benefit, you can also focus on bringing your navel towards your spine for an extra abdominal toning exercise.

This is fundamental yet THE most overlooked activity. We take breathing for granted and don't realize when it's not performed properly. Don't let distractions such as mis-hits, other players etc affect proper breathing rhythm and technique. It helps remove negative mental and physical barriers and unlock that awesome swing of yours!

Rather than using the word 'relax' - think 'calm'. When you relax you go all floppy. When you are calm you can be keyed up but under control.
