Putting Distances
Problem
You have a hard time reading distances on the green.
Cure
Make sure you pace your putting line to help measure out the distance and feel the break.
Therapy
Practice putting on a putting green. Set a large maker on the ground three feet from your target and be certain to measure this distance with a tape measure. Continue to set markers three feet apart as far as you can. Walk along your line and keep track of how many seconds it takes for you to move from one marker to another. Walk several times back and forth beside your line with the markers in your peripheral vision while counting. Allow this time to give you a feel of known distances. Once this begins to feel mundane, pace along your six foot maker to the target and then putt from this location. Continue to pace and putt from the markers but do not putt them in order. By putting them out of order, you will really need to feel the distance for each putt.
