Tip From the Archives
Putter Change
Problem
You are pushing or pulling your putts.
Cure
Simply changing the type of putter that you use can correct your putting. For instance, a heel weighted putter could cause a pull or correct a push. Many players find that a heavier center weighted putter is all that they need to keep the putterface straight through contact. Other players find that their putting is improved by using a shorter or longer putter shaft.
Therapy
Try several types of putters at a local sporting goods store. Start out with a simple blade putter. Take two shoe boxes and set them on either side of the ball on the green. Test out different weighted putters to see which ones moves between the boxes the straightest for you. Be certain to include a back weighted and adjustable weighted putter.
