Tip From the Archives

Pulled Wedge

Problem

You are an aggressive player and are pulling or hooking your wedges.

Cure

Avoid hitting your wedges as hard as you can. If you hit them too aggressively, it will set your shoulder or arm to move too quickly for a pull.

Therapy

If you feel that you need to be aggressive to make this shot, select a longer club instead. If you are worried you will not get the loft you desire with this club, simply hold the clubface open to gain extra height. To help avoid allowing your arms to move too quickly during the swing, focus on shifting your body weight forward as you take your downswing.
