Power Up
Problem
You do not know why you have lost power in your swing.
Cure
Check to see if your forward hand is positioned incorrectly on the grip. When the back of your forward hand is pointing too much towards the sky, it causes too much loft and spin. Another possibility for power loss is that your forward arm is too tense, causing the arm overwork or overextend. If you can relax your forward arm and position your hand correctly at impact, it will help you aim the clubface for proper loft, keep it on plane and a more powerful swing.
Therapy
Keep your forward arm relaxed as you turn away from the ball. Allow your forward wrist to be flat longer to allow the clubhead to trail the hands so the shaft stays on plane. Proper extension of the forward arm will help you gain power due to creating a wider swing arc. When your forward arm is relaxed during the backswing, it will allow your wrists to hinge naturally and your shoulders, arm and hands will coil in sync. The back of your forward hand should face the target and your knuckles should point towards the ground at impact.
