Power Killing Slice

Problem

You are slicing the ball and losing distance off of the teebox.

Cure

Check the clubhead path during your golf swing. You want to make sure it is moving down towards the ball from inside of the target line. If it is moving from the outside, it will cause the ball to slice with a left to right sidespin and a loss of distance.

Therapy

You will get a nice draw for extra distance if you are able to swing from the inside. To help establish this right to left spin, tee up your ball and place two other tees into the ground. Set one of the extra tees in the ground 16 inches behind the ball but make sure it is just inside of your target line. Put the other into the ground about 16 inches in front of the ball along the target line or slightly outside of it. Set an old shaft, a stick or a club on the ground inside of your target line by about a foot. Address the ball with your feet aimed along the same line as the shaft on the ground. Swing along all three tees to help shape your clubhead path.
