Poor Wedge Play
Problem
Your putting and long game are great but you seem to gain the most number of strokes around the green.
Cure
Only play shots you feel confident making. This might mean that you will need to master one wedge and simply control distances by adjusting the loft. If you do not feel comfortable with your wedges, spend extra time with them at the range. Know the difference between a chip and a pitch so you will be able to play them with ease. When in doubt, keep the ball low to rely more on roll because it is more predictable and easier to control.
Therapy
Your weight will be place more on your forward leg, hands set just ahead of the ball and the ball will be set back in your stance for both a chip and a pitch. You will use more of your upper body as a whole unit with a chip. A chip shot will require straight wrists with a short and lower swing. Focus more on a pendulum motion with a chip. A pitch will have a steeper backswing with a wrist hinge. Take a longer follow through so you ensure that you accelerate through impact. Hold your finish longer when you pitch. Work on gaining a consistent loft with both swings and get a good feel for the distances.
