Tip From the Archives
Pendulum Putting
Problem
You want to create a putting stroke that is more fluid without tension or deceleration.
Cure
Develop a smooth flowing putting stroke.
Therapy
Think of your arms as a pendulum that constantly swings the putter back and forward in an uninterrupted flow of motion. Keep swinging the putter five inches back and five inches forward. Have a friend place a ball at the bottom of the stroke every time you take the putter back. This way you can gain the feeling of an even and smooth stroke as you hit the ball. Hit at least a dozen balls this way before you practice putting at targets on the green.
