Tip From the Archives
Overusing Hands and Wrists While Putting
Problem
Putts are unpredictable because you move your wrists too much during the stroke.
Cure
Do not hinge your wrists at all during your stroke. Instead, move your arm and putter as if it is one unit.
Therapy
Practice swinging with just your lead arm. Make sure your arm and the shaft of the putter is making a straight line down to the ball by bowing your wrists forward a little. The putter grip should be pressed into the lifeline of your palm by gripping stronger with your finger tips. Then take a solid stroke so that your putter feels as if it is an extension of your arm.
