Overlapping Grip Errors
Problem
You use the overlap grip and you make poor contact with the ball.
Cure
Sometimes when people use the overlap grip, the gripping pressure where the pinky overlaps the index finger is too strong. This prevents the wrists from hinging properly and causes poor distance and inconsistent ball striking. Another possible cause for poor contact with the ball is when the pinky separates and weakens grip pressure of the first two fingers on the other hand. Check and make sure that the pinky is lying across the crease between the first two fingers and not separating them.
Therapy
If you feel that the overlap grip is causing grip pressure problems, try overlapping with your pinky and ring fingers instead of just your pinky. This should allow the other fingers to grip a little stronger.
