Tip From the Archives
Open Your Hips
Problem
You want to hit all of your long clubs a little further.
Cure
Many golfers fail to make a good hip turn during their downswings. Try to have your hips open to the target at impact.
Therapy
Remember to use your weight to help you gain power. Shift your weight onto your back foot during your backswing and use the shifting of your weight forward to help propel the turning of your body and the clubhead into the ball. Instead of having your hips square to the target at impact, you want to have more rotation that your trailing hip turned slightly towards the target.
Do you mean like Ben Hogan at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsl7aozegEM check it out at about 3:10 in
I just went through some videos of Pro Tour players and noticed that Tiger does it too. His hips are open but the rest of his body is square to the target at impact.
