On Your Toes

Problem

You lose balance and have noticed that you get up on your toes during the swing.

Cure

Try standing closer to the ball because chances are, you are reaching too much and this causes you to get up on your toes and therefore lose balance. Stand up a little taller to help place a little more weight evenly onto the arch of your feet.

Therapy

A good test to see if you are getting up on your toes is to lift your toes off of the ground at address. Make sure you set up to the ball as usual, and then lift your toes. Did you have to adjust your body in anyway because you did this? If so, then you need to stand taller and closer to the ball.

this is probably the most funtional piece of advice i've gotten from this site. i did not realize i was reaching so much for the ball...this also corrected my wicked shanks on shorter holes. and i have noticed slightly better distance down long fairways.
