Natural Flow

Problem

You have great rhythm and flow during your practice swing but lack this grace when you actually hit the ball.

Cure

You do not fear the results of your practice swing as you do when you are going to hit the ball. Do not think about what you need for a score on this hole in order to save par. Pretend that you are not even going to hit the ball for the game because this is just another practice swing. Channel this ease and flow that you have as you take your practice swing as you set up to the ball.

Therapy

Your goal should be to think the same way with every shot, regardless of difficulty. If you can do this same thing with every shot, the end result will be a natural rhythm and flow. You will not need to try achieve a natural rhythm and flow because it will simply be part of your swing. You can already create this feeling when you practice your swing so now bring it with you at address. Do not allow the target image or anything else disrupt this feeling. You already have the ball in place and the target image in mind before you take your practice swing so you do not need to allow these details to place additional weight on your mind. As far as a waggle or any other details that you may have when you set up to the ball, be certain to do these same actions during your practice swing. If you do not normally do them during your practice swing but do with your actual shot, this might be the trigger for your stress when it comes time for you to hit the ball.
