Marker Putting Drill
Problem
You are pushing or pulling your putts.
Cure
Focus on keeping the face of the putter square to the target at least an inch before and after contact with the ball.
Therapy
A simple drill to work on hitting your putts straight is by hitting a thick marker on the green. Set the marker down so that it is pointing towards the target, along the target line. Hit the end of the marker as you normally would with the putter. If the marker turns, then you know you are hitting too much with the heel or toe of the putter. You want to work on moving the putter straight through contact so that the maker moves towards the target without it turning or twisting sideways.
