Tip From the Archives
Low Trajectory Rough
Problem
The ball landed in the tall grass near the green.
Cure
If you have a hard time getting the ball out of this situation, try making a low trajectory rough shot.
Therapy
Just think of chopping the ball out of the grass by keeping your hands ahead of the ball and using a very descending blow. Just make sure you set your weight forward with the ball towards the back of your stance.
Keep both wrists stiff? or Break wrists and not use arms or shoulders?
The more wrist break you have, the steeper your swing and the more loft you will get. So if you want it to be a runner across the green, try keeping your forward wrist straight and think about karate chopping the ball. This will let the clubhead move through the grass and get the ball out. Just make sure you deloft the club by setting your hands up ahead of the ball.
