Loft Control

Problem

You already understand how to change the loft by adjusting the clubface but you want to know how weight distribution changes it.

Cure

Simply by lifting the heel on one foot will change your weight distribution and angle of attack on the ball, changing the trajectory of the golf ball.

Therapy

To work on your irons, tee the ball up just a little and practice hitting down on the ball by lifting up the heel on your back foot. This will place most of your weight onto your forward foot to encourage a steeper swing to enable you to hit down onto the ball. To work on using your driver, lift the heel up on your forward foot. Tilt your body back so your angle of approach will be downward and then upward through the ball so you can catch the ball during the upswing for added power.
