Lobbing With Too Much Wrist Cock
Problem
You lose distance and make large divots because you are cocking your wrists too much when using your lob wedge.
Cure
Take a bigger swing with your arms and body moving in one solid motion.
Therapy
To successfully use a lob, you need to practice a lot to help build the confidence you need for consistent results. Keep these points in mind when you practice. Play the ball in the middle of your stance with your weight centered or just a little more on your forward leg. Take a three quarter swing and focus on limiting your wrist cock. Your forward hand should be ahead of the ball throughout the entire downswing as you accelerate into a full finish. If you find that you are still cocking your wrists too much then try practicing with an arm brace that will help keep it stiff.
