Tip From the Archives
Level Stroke
Problem
Your hands are overactive while putting or you see too many inconsistent putts.
Cure
Keep your wrists firm and work on making a level stroke to improve contact.
Therapy
With a pencil or dry erase marker, divide the clubface of your putter into three sections from top to bottom by drawing two lines. Put fabric bandage tape across the clubface just below the second line. Now, practice your putts while focusing on making a level stroke. If you pick the clubhead up during your swing, you will know it by the different feeling at impact and lack of distance.
