Problem

You are overusing your body to compensate for inadequate hip and shoulder turn, poor wrist cock, contact, or balance.

Cure

Practice swinging with your feet together.

Therapy

By swinging with your feet together, you will be forced to develop a more balanced and controlled swing. This will train you to cock the club on the backswing and uncock during impact. Start with a very slow and controlled swing; because if you swing the club too hard or sway too much, then it will cause you to fall over. Once you have developed a feel for swinging with your feet together, slowly work your way up to a natural and balanced swing.

I WAS GETTING INTO A FUNK NOT BEING MORE BALANCED HITTING MY MIDDLE IRONS. I HAD NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THIS SEASON. I SEEN THIS ADVICE AND TRIED IT. NOT ONLY DID IT HELP ME BUT NOW I USE THIS PRACTICE WITH ALL MY SHOTS. IT REMINDED ME OF WHEN MY BASEBALL COACH HAD ME PRACTICE WHEN HITTING IN BATTING CAGE IN HIGH SCHOOL. HE HAD ME HIT FEW SOFT SWINGS WITH FEET TOGETHER WHEN ALL THE TIME AS PITCH AFTER PITCH CAME IN I WAS TO SPREAD OUT INTO A NORMAL STANCE AFTER ABOUT 6-8 SWINGS. ITS A GREAT DRILL AND IT WORKS IN GOLF TOO. THANKS FOR THE REMINDER USING THIS.
