Tip From the Archives
Last Thought
Problem
You cannot block out all of the trouble areas on the course. You spend so much time worrying about hitting in them, that it is exactly where the ball lands.
Cure
It is okay to acknowledge where the trouble areas or hazards are on the course. Know where they are and plan the best path around them. Just make sure that the trouble areas are not your last thought before hitting the ball or this is where it is likely to go.
Therapy
You know all of the areas on this hole that you want to avoid. This should be your first thought. Your last thought should be something positive. Whether it is making clean contact or visualizing the ball rolling to a stop at your target area, your last thought before hitting the ball should be something encouraging.
