Tip From the Archives

Knockdown Shot

Problem

It is really windy out on the course.

Cure

Avoid allowing the wind take control of your ball by keeping it as low as possible.

Therapy

Deloft the club. Play it towards the back of your stance, hood the face a little bit. Get your arms moving down. If you tend to have a hard time keeping the ball low, focus on trying to get your forward arm moving faster than your trailing arm. This will help you get a lower trajectory shot.

What is meant by "hood the face"?

Hooding the clubface is just a way to close the clubface or deloft the club. Lean the shaft of the club towards the target a little to deloft the club.
