Tip From the Archives
Jittery Golfer
Problem
You are finding it difficult to stay still while putting.
Cure
Try to figure out if this is from anxiety or if you just have a certain portion of your body that is moving excessively during the stroke. Avoid drinking a lot of caffeine or eating a lot of sweets before playing your round. Caffeine can decrease your fine motor control and increase your heart rate. Some types of sugars is converted into blood sugar very quickly and can make you edgy.
Therapy
Set most of your weight on your forward side while putting to feel more stable. That way you are not moving your body, head, or putter around. Then you will be able to freely move your arms and shoulders through the stroke.
